The year 2005 was quite an interesting year for the RMO. No one has to be reminded about all the natural disasters that occurred this year...and, as usual, those events all weighed heavily on our work schedule.
However...the slack created by the loss of Delta Steamboat Co. cruises (especially in and out of New Orleans ) was picked up nicely by alternate cruises aboard the Empress of the North for the American West Steamboat Co. out of Portland , OR .
In 2005 the RMO dominated the Big Band Theme cruises for that line...and we completed five cruises all together.
In addition...2006 promises to be another great year for RMO cruises on the Mississippi Queen as well as the Empress of the North. Right now...we're holding a contract for the M.Q. on June 19th thru and including the 23rd (5 days total) and we'll be boarding the vessel in St. Louis , MO and debarking in Madison , IN on the morning of June 24th. Please note that these dates are the actual playing dates for us and are not necessarily the beginning or end of a scheduled cruise. Check with your local travel agents for that information.
The American West Steamboat Co. has already contracted us for the following cruises. February 26th; November 5th and November 12th, 2006 Each of these cruises are seven days in length and they begin and end in Portland , OR . The boat is very nice; the scenery is exceptional...and add to the mix...the Russ Morgan Orchestra...and as we say..."It doesn't get much better than that"!!
Don't forget about our special Big Band Dance in Las Vegas , NV at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino on January 15th, 2006. It's always very special to return to Las Vegas and this venue is open to the public and strictly a dance....for four hours!!
See our touring schedule for additional information about this date. |
